This morning I was rear-ended while taking the kids to school. I was the 3rd car in the crunch line. I am so grateful I was not the middle car. My car would have been totalled and we probably would have been seriously hurt. The car that initially rear-ended the car behind me was totalled (pick up truck driven by 16 year old had the entire engine area pushed in to the window). The middle car was a Chevy Tahoe and they took the brunt of the impact and then they ran into me. Here is a picture of the back of my beloved Beetle and the area around the rear tire. Something is pushing into the wheel/tire so I hear noise so I am not driving it. I am contemplating having it towed to the body shop. I'll ask my adjuster in the morning.
Thankfully, the kids and I are fine. It's a miracle that no one involved was hurt.
